Dr Chris is the CEO of Georgia SurgiCare and its subsidiaries, the premier Same Day Surgery center in Georgia. He is an Augusta University Professor of Surgery who specializes in all aspects of General and Bariatric Surgery, including acid reflux, weight loss, gallbladder, hernia repair and cancer care. He is a leader in his field and at the forefront of technology, committed to providing high-quality, personalized and compassionate care to patients every day. As a testament to his hard work and dedication, Dr Chris has received numerous prestigious awards and distinctions such as SBDC Business Development and Innovation Award, Best of Gwinnett.

Dr Chris completed his residency at Cleveland Clinic Foundation and served as Active Staff and Assistant Professor of Surgery at Cleveland Clinic. He received advanced training in Robotic and Incisionless Surgery. He started Georgia SurgiCare to provide outstanding care and service to patients in Georgia. Georgia SurgiCare is the leading surgery center in Georgia.

He also runs SurgiCare Caritas – the only Georgia-based surgery center providing free surgical care services to qualified patients in Gwinnett, Walton Counties. To Dr Chris, domestic volunteerism is absolutely vital to our health as a nation.

His personal life is dominated by his family and triathlon training.

Dr. Angelina Postoev is the founder of Surgicare Arts & Aesthetics and co-founder of Georgia SurgiCare. She is double board-certified by the American College of Surgery and American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Triple-trained and licensed in Cosmetic, General Surgery and Critical Care Surgery, Dr. Angelina is committed to providing exceptional surgical treatment by using advanced technology and procedures in a state of the art surgical facility. Considering herself both an artist and a surgeon, she delivers eye-pleasing results for patients looking to optimize their appearance and health.

Originally from Moscow, Dr. Postoev received her undergraduate degree from Ohio State University and then attended medical school at Ross University, where she ranked in the top five percent of her class. She completed her residency at the world-famous Cleveland Clinic Foundation, the No. 2 ranked hospital in the United States. Upon completion of her chief residency in General Surgery, Dr. Postoev went on to receive critical care surgical training at Ohio State University Hospital. Shortly after, she moved to Georgia with her family and co-founded Georgia SurgiCare, where she continues on as a valuable surgeon.

Dr. Cruz received his medical degree from the Universidad San Francisco de Quito and completed his residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He is certified through the American Board of Surgery and joined Georgia SurgiCare in August 2013. His services include:

Dr. Maribelle Verdiales, M.D.

Dr.Verdiales was born in Puerto Rico, where she completed her medical degree. She then moved to New York City to become an OB/GYN, and during her residency was exposed to minimally invasive surgery, and pelvic reconstruction which became areas of particular interest. After graduation, she continued to practice for a few years in New York, and pursued further training in the areas of Robotic Surgery and pelvic reconstruction with and without mesh implants.

In 2009, Dr. Verdiales relocated to Georgia with her family to start a private practice. She then sought a more holistic education and took advance training in bio-identical hormone therapy, nutrition, weight loss and integrative medicine. She believes that in order to achieve health, there most be a balance between body, mind and soul. As part of her vision, Maribelle Verdiales MD. evolved into a Women’s center, where her patients could not only take advantage of cutting-edge technology to address their healthcare needs, but also could find a haven where to free their minds and feed their souls.

 

Charlot Guens Louis, R.N., A.P.R.N.

Charlot Guens Louis is an adult nurse practitioner who specializes in surgical care at Georgia Surgicare. He completed his undergraduate nursing education at Southern Union College in 2009, and then earned his Master of Science degree at Walden University in 2015.

For over seven years, Mr. Louis gained invaluable experience and intense training in surgical-trauma critical care during his tenure at Grady Health System, a premier level 1 trauma center in the nation. Prior work history includes time as a nurse in Gwinnett Medical Center’s Neuroscience ICU, and as an RN supervisor at Unihealth of Decatur. He has been a volunteer partner of Emory University Department of Surgery for their annual medical trip to Haiti since 2011. He holds a national board certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.

Sonji Clarke, Nurse Practitioner

Sonji Clarke was born in Barbados and attended North Georgia State University and Western Governor’s College where she graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in 2009. She later graduated from Walden University with a Master’s degree in MSN in 2016.

She has worked in the ICU at Grady Hospital and Clearview Regional Medical center, as well as NICU and LTAC at Gwinnett Medical Center. Sonji also worked in Step Down ICU at Dekalb Medical center, and as an RN at Georgia Regional. Before entering the medical field, she completed 16 years as a Payroll Accountant.

She is the proud mother of two young men, and hopes to make a difference in this world through caring for her patients. When she is away from work Sonji loves to relax, spend time with her family, travel to new places and experience new cultures.
